The Catbird Seat is the THE best location on the mountain!
***Your own dedicated Wi-Fi***
***20% Off Equipment Rentals When You Rent With Me***
***Low Price Guarantee During Summer, Early, and Late Season***

My goal is to provide customers low-cost lodging in the Snowshoe Village while ensuring a comfortable vacation. My low price guarantee is valid from mid-March through the first weekend of skiing. I'll beat any verifiable, comparable Mountain Lodge offer during those dates. I have additional condos if this one is booked.

Snowshoe Resort is a year-round vacation resort. In the winter, you can enjoy 60 different ski slopes, three terrain parks, tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. After the slopes close you can stroll through the Village's restaurants, shops, kids’ entertainment zone, nightclub, full-service spa, and a teen center for those 20 years old and younger. This is the best skiing you will find east of the Mississippi and south of Vermont, with terrain for both expert and novice skiers. The resort is at the top of the mountain, with breath-taking views of the area.

In the summer you can plan on a significantly cooler climate in the mountains where you can hike, geo-cache, lounge at the mountain lake, mountain bike, fish, paddle-boat, shoot sporting clays, ride RAZR 4-wheelers, or golf at Raven Golf Course. There is a climbing wall and Euro-bungee right in the Village! Year-round you can sightsee and swim, or drive off the resort to see live theater or ride on the Cass historic train. Activities and time tables change annually, so double-check with Snowshoe to ensure the activities you want will be available when you plan to be there.

The Mountain Lodge is a Ski In/Ski Out complex ideally located in the Snowshoe Village and next to the slopes, and has its own private parking lot (free to Mountain Lodge guests). You’ll be 30 yards from the Ballhooter Lift and the Beginners’ Slope, all within the Basin. The indoor pool/hot tub/ sauna (additional charges apply), church, and general store are only a short walk from your building. Your condo at the Mountain Lodge is also within walking distance of the Western Territory slopes and the shuttle to night skiing at Silver Creek, giving you outstanding access to all 60 slopes. On the ground floor, you’ll find a relaxing lobby with a warm (in the winter) fireplace. Mountain Lodge common areas and condos all have their own dedicated wi-fi. You’ll have an arcade in the building, as well as Snowshoe’s conference rooms. Mountain Lodge also offers a nightly movie during the ski season. Mountain Lodge is one of the few buildings on the mountain with on-site maintenance, just in case. The mild weather most of the summer at the top of the mountain allows for the lack of air conditioning in the building and in most condos. Despite this, some condos do have interior air conditioning. Please check the condo’s amenities for details. Unless otherwise coordinated, your housekeeping fee includes an initial set-up of linens, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, bath soap, coffee filters, and facial tissues. Replacements and/or additional supplies are available for a fee at the front desk. There are lockers for rent at the front desk, so you can store your ski or bike gear right near a building exit. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. No smoking or pets allowed; violators will be fined.

You’ll enjoy staying in The Catbird Seat, one of the largest two bedroom condos on the mountain, and one of only six of these large condos in the building. This is the best spot on the mountain, with expansive west- and south-facing views of the slopes where you can watch TV next to your own real firewood fireplace. Wood is free, just outside the door. Also just outside your door is a public space with high stools and tables, overlooking the lobby and slopes - great for large groups! The kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, crock pot, blender, coffee maker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc. so you can bring food to eat-in. The kitchen has room for eight to sit, though there is bed space for 10. There are new appliances, flooring, cafe-style dining tables, and a portable a/c as of May 2021. The MBR has a TV/DVD and the guest BR has a TV/DVD. There’re two queen sleeper sofas in the living room. Relax with an HD Dish TV/DVD/VCR/AM/FM/Surround Sound setup in the living room, or play a board game. You can rent videos in the lobby or at Wildcat Provisions. Your condo has a built-in ski rack in the entrance. Please note this unit has a standalone AC unit that is only available in the summer months.

Your cell phone may not work in and around Snowshoe Mountain. The area east of the mountain is a quiet zone due to the Green Bank National Radio Astronomy Observatory. As of 2015, AT&T has service at the resort, but not down the mountain to the east. Your GPS will work everywhere, but don’t count on your phone working (voice or data).

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATIONS/ALTERATIONS: EDH strongly recommends Renters secure traveler’s insurance from a third-party provider to mitigate the risk of losing some or all of the rent payment resulting from an unanticipated cancellation or alteration. Some travel credit cards offer coverage of this sort.

• Early- or late-winter season (as determined by Snowshoe): Renters may cancel or alter reservations as late as four days prior to the check-in date to receive a full refund of rent paid. Renters who cancel or alter fewer than four days prior to the check-in date will receive a refund based solely upon EDH’s ability to re-rent the Property.

• High- or non-winter season (as determined by Snowshoe): Renters may cancel or alter as late as fourteen days prior to the check-in date to receive a full refund of rent paid. Renters who cancel or alter between five and thirteen days prior to the check-in date will receive a refund (minus first night’s occupancy, housekeeping, fees, and taxes) of rent. Renters who cancel or alter fewer than four days prior to the check-in date will receive a refund based solely upon EDH’s ability to re-rent the Property.

Deposit Policy

DAMAGE INSURANCE: The Renter may, at any time prior to check-in, purchase damage insurance from EDH for $40. EDH damage insurance indemnifies the Renter from culpability for any damage caused to the Property during the Renter’s stay, up to $2,000, if the damage did not result from malice or recklessness. This policy does not release the Renter from responsibility for pilferage, damages caused to anything outside the Property, or punitive fines.

Rate varies due to seasonality and holidays.

Great Unit. Comfortable beds, awesome view of the slopes from this corner unit. The only thing I'd change is I should have paid $15 at the front desk to rent a ski locker. Schlepping stuff from the slopes up to the 2nd floor room was a bit much for my small kids. I've stayed in more than a dozen Mountain Lodge units, and this is one of the nicest ones I've had. Easily accommodated our 2 adults and 3 kids. You could probably sleep 6 or 7 before it felt too cramped. I'm looking forward to seeing Mountain Lodge after the internal renovation and decks go up, and this unit will be on our short list of properties to check.

This room is great! The location can’t be beat and the views are incredible. The unit is well stocked with kitchen supplies, games, tv, etc. It is also one of the nicer updated units in mountain lodge. Fireplace was a nice cozy surprise. There are plenty of hooks for hanging your gear and boot mats to catch the water from melting snow.
