THE UNIT:
Welcome home to Mountain Lodge unit 268, a remarkable place to enjoy your next Snowshoe Mountain vacation getaway!
This sophisticated, modern 2-bedroom/2-bathroom beauty is on the second floor, sleeps six guests, has unbelievable views, and has been renovated with an upscale contemporary décor. If you are fortunate enough to stay here, you’ll have the privilege of starting your day enjoying peaceful sunrises! You’ll also have the benefit of taking in the expansive mountain views this property has to offer. Mountain Lodge 268 features a renovated kitchen that is larger than most 2-bedroom units and has extra cabinets and counterspace. It comes fully stocked with all the basics you'll need to prepare, cook, and serve a delicious meal.
Within the expanded space, you’ll find plateware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and toaster. Or, if you’re tired of preparing your own meals, consider a short stroll to the magical Snowshoe mountain top village to peruse its numerous shopping and dining options.
As you’re enjoying a cup of tea, coffee, a glass of wine, or a good book from the living room, you can take in the natural landscape and gorgeous views right outside your window! Take in the fresh mountain air from the brand-new 7’x7’ deck with outside seating for four people and be inspired by the unspoiled nature of the mountains!
For your comfort and a peaceful night of sleep, the master bedroom provides you with a queen bed from which you’ll also enjoy breathtaking mountain views and an attached bathroom with an updated vanity with extra counter space. The second bedroom, also with a queen bed, is located on the opposite side of the property. The Ikea pop-up sleeper sofa in the living room features a full mattress for up to two additional people. The second bathroom in the unit is conveniently located in the hall and has an expanded vanity with extra counter space.
Your housekeeping package includes linens for each bedroom (sheets and pillowcases) and bathroom (towels, washcloths, and a bath mat), a dish towel, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, liquid dish soap (for hand washing), powdered dish detergent (for the dishwasher), bath soap bars, and coffee filters. Please let our friendly front desk staff if you need to swap out linens or resupply the sundries provided.

THE RESORT:
At 4,848 feet, Snowshoe Mountain has the best skiing south of Vermont and east of Colorado, and is the perfect all-season destination in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains. You’re sure to find activities and adventures to keep all your family members happy.
● Winter – With an average yearly snowfall of 180 inches, the mountain offers 250 acres of skiable terrain, 61 slopes, 12 lifts, night skiing in Silver Creek, and five terrain parks for all skill levels. When you feel like taking a break from skiing or snowboarding, consider the many other activities available such as the Coca-Cola tubing park, Polaris RZR tours, snowmobile tours, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and the Snowshoe spa, to name a few.
● Summer – Enjoy the Snowshoe Bike Park with 40 downhill trails. Other activities include hiking, horseback riding, geocaching, clay shooting, golfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, relaxing on the sandy beach by Shavers Lake, etc.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
● Mountain Lodge features equipment lockers for rent (each holds up to two mountain bikes), for $15/per day on a first-come/first-serve basis, an arcade for the kids and young at heart, an inviting lobby built around a large fireplace (lit in the winter), laundry facilities, conference rooms, and a prime location that’s just a quick walk to Snowshoe’s main high-speed quad lift, Split Rock Pools, Wildcat Grocery, and the St. Bernard Chapel.
● Please be courteous and considerate of the other guests and abide by the quiet hours from 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
● Party away on the mountain or at a local restaurant. But, please, no parties in the condo.
● Free bus shuttles are available from the Village to Top of the Mountain, and to Silver Creek for night skiing. Reach the Western Territory by way of the Silver Creek shuttle.
● If you need additional accommodations, please ask me about my other condos in the Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
PETS: We absolutely adore our furry friends and wish you could bring them with you. Unfortunately, Mountain Lodge does not allow guests to bring pets of any type. As such, we have to insist you find alternative accommodations for your pets. However, if you have a certified Service Animal, let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate you. Service animals must be registered when you check-in at the front desk.
EARLY CHECK-IN: While we know you are excited to kick off your vacation, please note we cannot guarantee check-in prior to 5:00 PM. Mountain Lodge may be able to accommodate your request for an earlier check-in as long as the room is clean and set up.
LATE CHECK-OUT: Unfortunately, these are not possible. If you’d like a late checkout so you can enjoy all the mountain has to offer, we’re happy to book you for another night, if this or any of our other properties is available.
PARKING: Your reservation includes parking for up to as many vehicles as there are bedrooms in the condo you’ve booked. Any additional vehicles will be allowed to unload passengers and luggage at the Mountain Lodge main entrance, but will then need to find parking outside of the Mountain Lodge parking lot. We welcome you to park for free at the Top of the World (left out of Mountain Lodge parking lot; one mile up the road). From there, you can take the shuttle to the Village, and walk to Mountain Lodge. It is imperative that you move your vehicle(s) out of the Mountain Lodge parking lot immediately following check-out, as the lot is not large enough to accommodate vehicles of incoming Guests in addition to those of departing Guests.

EDH strongly recommends Guests secure traveler’s insurance from a third-party provider to mitigate the risk of losing some or all of the payment resulting from an unanticipated need to cancel or alter the reservation. Some travel credit cards offer coverage of this sort. Guests will receive a full refund if they cancel or alter the dates of their reservation at least 30 days before check-in. Guests who cancel or alter at least 14 days before check-in will receive a refund of 50% for all nights. Guests who cancel or alter fewer than 14 days before check-in will not receive a refund.
EDH does not charge a security deposit in advance of occupancy. However, EDH will charge Guests after the fact for maintenance and repairs resulting from any damage caused to – and for replacement of any items that disappear from – the Property during their occupancy. The Guest agrees to pay all reasonable costs, attorney fees, and expenses that shall be made or incurred by the Landlord during the enforcement of this agreement.

Tim is a wonderful host! He is very accommodating and helpful! Directions to the room could’ve been a little more clear and I wish every room had A/C. Other than that, my group had a wonderful time!

We were happy to host you in Mountain Lodge 268, and hope you enjoyed the Labor Day festivities! I'm so sorry getting to the unit (once inside the building) was a little confusing. We mange about 32 properties in the Mountain Lodge building, so it's not possible for us to push out specific directions to each specific room. There are signs all over the building that help direct Guests to their appropriate room since the numbering scheme in the building is a little wonky. Also, the front desk person is always happy to point our Guests in the right direction, if they have any questions.
This particular property has two A/C units (one in the living room and one in the bedroom that faces the mountains.) The reason the bedroom by the hall does not have a standalone A/C unit is because these units need to vent to the outside and they are not allowed to vent to the hall (as per the HOA rules).
We're glad your group had a wonderful time, and we hope you'll consider EDH Rentals next time you're planning a trip to Snowshoe!
This place at Snowshoe was pretty nice overall. It’s definitely smaller than the photos make it appear. The deck wasn’t done and still blocked off even though the listing said it would be done spring of 2023, so that was disappointing. The views were excellent from the windows, though. The kitchen and place overall were clean and well-stocked. There was good communication about local activities and the details of the unit. The area is clearly designed for winter activities and summer is not as well organized. The building itself is quite dated and in disrepair, but the unit is fine. There is also no longer a fitness area like the photos show. It was overall a nice stay for a decent price. The area is pretty walkable but high resort prices…small pizzas are $25-$30.
Thanks for the feedback, Ben! We try to post as many pictures as possible to our ad sites to ensure our Guests have an accurate understanding of the size of the Property. We'll be better about showing the specifics of the dimensions. With that said, Mountain Lodge condos are some of the larger ones in the Village area.
We do apologize for the decks, as we were promised by the Association that they would be open by this past spring... which then turned into June. We should have followed back up with you when we learned last week that further delays would keep your deck closed. We've adjusted the ad site to show a blocked deck until further notice based on your feedback.
We're excited about the interior renovations our building will enjoy, but we don't think it's fair to say Mountain Lodge is "in disrepair." Antiquated, maybe, but still cozy, safe, secure, and functioning quite well.
While Snowshoe is primarily a winter resort, there are a ton of fun and exciting things to do there in the summer season! We hope you had the opportunity to read through the detailed emails we sent to help you plan your vacation on the mountain.
The fitness area was only recently removed to make way for the two-story child's playground, so we have removed the equipment from our ad sites, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Hopefully, you were able to get your exercise in on some of our variety of amazing hiking and biking trails.
Great location that can’t be beat!!
Tim is an awesome host and very responsive. The unit is just as described and very homey. Unfortunately we were there during the deep freeze -20 and the buildings water froze so we were without water for 3 days. Tim brought a couple of cases of water to help us out. The master bedroom faces the slopes and has a beautiful Mountain View. But the resort grooms the snow pretty early (for me it was about 4:30am) so it was noisy.
Great condo, beautiful sunrises and prompt thorough communication from booking to check out.
First time skiing and this condo made it easier considering the Mountain Lodge is right next to Ballhooter lift. 2bed/2bath was enough space for my family, and the hallway with ski mount helped keep our gear organized. The living room was a little smaller than expected from the photos, but it worked for us. Headboards were a little dusty, but overall fairly clean place. WiFi was useful considering most of the Snowshoe resort had little to no WiFi (especially limited to no connectivity on the slopes). At night the bedroom next to the inner hallway can get a little noisy considering the arcade is open to the 2nd floor and some guests can be loud. Bedroom facing the slopes had a great view, but can get a little noisy in the middle of the night when the snowplow/truck grooms the snow nearby. Parking was fine, but the lines seem to have faded so parking is rather haphazard.
Tim was a friendly and responsive host with useful info on the Lodge and the Ski resort. Would book again.
