Best place to stay in snowshoe as far as bang for the buck!
Great place to stay in the village area.
We really enjoyed the stay, and everything was exactly as expected.
First time to Snowshoe in a long time. We took our 4.5 and 1.5 yr old there. The unit itself i would have to say was great. The main congregating room is a bit smaller than it looked in pics, but was sufficient for just the four of us. And while the building was old, you could tell the unit had been updated. And place was well appointed. Coffee maker, spices, pots and pans, etc.
The one downside of the unit, is that the whole building is old. And Im someone who takes a while to actually fall asleep. And both beds border the hallway. And it gets really noisy. Even if its just foot traffic, you can hear it all day and night. And two of the three nights, someone noisy was above us also.
One saving grace was the couch in the main room folds into a bed, and thats where i slept for two of the nights.
Tim was incredibly responsive, and proactive.
Coffee place opens at 8:30, so bring coffee.
FYI, may just be a temporary thing, but the playground was deconstructed when we went.
This was another great trip! Getting there and checking in was easy, thanks in large part to excellent communication from Tim. The condo was neat and clean, had everything we needed, and it's just down the hall to the snow and the top of Ballhooter lift. Just across from the lift is the village and the shuttle bus to the Western Territory and Silver Creek. The location is absolutely perfect.
Well be back next year!
Tim was a great host. Responsive with lots of information.
Great unit with the two bedrooms gave more space than expected for a condo. Mountain Lodge was a great place with kids- we visited with other families and the kids were able to goto arcade and hang out in the common space. Great stay!
Great location, really nice people working in the building. Tim was very communicative and prompt.
Awesome location! Super convenient with a family that doesn’t want to travel to ski every day. Had fun taking the shuttle to Silver Creek at night, short walking distance to the room. Loved the spice rack and crockpot since we were trying to save money on food. We had a bit of an issue that was addressed regarding the hall bath. The condo was clean and organized. The boot dryer was a great feature. Kids had a lot of fun at the arcade and came back with some fun prizes. Great lifetime memories were had by all! Very thankful for our stay in your condo!
Our stay was good. It would have been nice to have a more modern key system; remotes that worked the tv and outlets with our home jacks. We did love the bench outside the door. It was cozy.
Perfect location, great host. Will definitely be back yearly.
Perfect location! A great space for our family of 4. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen.
Awesome room! Comfortable for up to 6 people. TV, Board Games, Video Games = the kids will be happy! Will book again!
Snowshoe is nice
Mountain lodge number 125 is a great stay for ski in and ski out. Location is convenient to the village and all the amenities. The unit was clean and well stocked. We look forward to staying with Tim again.
Proximity to the slopes is the ultimate charm of Tim's place at 128; just a short walk to the Ballhooter lift! Tim's place had everything that our family of five needed for our four day trip. This is our second year staying in one of Tim's mountain lodge condos, and overall we've really enjoyed staying at this location.
Mountain lodge was the perfect place to stay for our family of 4. Lots of space and everything we needed was right there. Tim communicated very well.
This Airbnb is perfect for a weekend trip to Snowsjoe. Super easy check in process and great location to get out on the slopes quickly and hassle free. Tim was very responsive, helpful, and updated us about fun events happening in the village during our stay. Photos are good representation of what to expect. A bit tight for 6 adults, but doable for a few nights. The pull out couch was helpful to have! Kitchen fully stocked and the place was clean and orderly.
Tim was responsive and place was clean comfy and very convenient spot. Late checkin (5pm) makes the price really steep and disappointing. It was raining for our trip and it would’ve been great to get in earlier. Four hour drive for us. Tim said to check w front desk we might be able to check in after 3. The front desk girl was awful. They hate their job. She kept telling me I should be able to check in soon and we went to eat came back at 430 and still had to wait. The walls are very thin and you will be awake all night. I would stay again but maybe thru the week on a non busy time, less traffic in the hallway. Very clean and as described. We did enjoy our time, thanks Tim!
Great stay, wonderful location. Had everything you needed. Will be coming back!
Great location. Perfectly clean. Well stocked kitchen supplies (pots pans etc). The building is a bit dated and noisy (ski boots!). But the ski in/out location can not be beat!!
Great place! Better location! Great host!
Exactly what you're looking for in a mountain lodge unit. Clean and convenient to the slopes. The pictures accurately depict exactly what you're getting. I rented 2 units from Tim this year and won't hesitate to rent from him again.
Super location in Mountain Lodge, which — truth be told — is rather noisy and in need of some major updating, but great price for what you get. The unit has most everything you need and is super convenient to the slopeside ski exit to Ballhooter lift. Having a washer & dryer IN the unit is a bonus! We've stayed in other ML units which did not have this amenity. I'd recommend and stay here again.
So convenient and clean and everything we expected plus more!
Very comfortable condo.
We enjoyed our stay in the Mountain Lodge. The location was great. You just walk outside, and you're at the top of one of the lifts. The rooms were nice, and the pullout couch worked great for another 2 people!
We had such a great time on our ski trip and staying here at Tim's condo. We will be back.
Owner was very responsive during the reservation process. The condo bedroom windows open onto a hallway which can be noisy. Overall, it was simple and very functional ,but, too small for six people. Everything worked and it was clean. Very close to activities, slopes, the shopping mart and church.
I only have great things about our experience staying in this condo! The owner was very responsive, the unit was comfortable and well appointed. Mountain Lodge is in a great location on the mountain and this unit is as close to the slopes as you can get. We will stay here again!!!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo was clean and self sufficient and a great proximity to the ski village.
First time visit to Snowshoe and this unit was great for our family of 4. Convenient to the slopes, plenty of room for us, close to the Village. Tim was great to work with. Will look to stay here again on next trip.
The description was accurate, perfect location to the slopes and the village. The kitchen was very well stocked with kitchen appliances, I did not realize it had a crockpot otherwise I would have planned different meals. The size was perfect for my small group. The bed was extremely comfortable and with 4 people staying in the condo, we never ran out of hot water. Great communication with the owner, enjoyed Starbucks in the village and took advantage of the shuttle on the property. Since it was brutally cold (high's 1-10 degrees) my car battery died and resort staff quickly jumped off my car to get us on our way. Would recommend this place to anyone.
First of all, Tim was a great host. He provided us with all the information necessary to access the lodge and mountain. He was very friendly and quick to respond which was very much appreciated.
The lodge itself is in a PRIME location - you can literally turn a corner and you are at the slopes and the village! The condo itself was very clean and more spacious than I had originally thought. You do hear children/people running around the hallways most of the day, but you can't really expect otherwise in a ski lodge. Things quiet down significantly after the lifts close though, so it was no bother at all. Overall, my group of 6 had a wonderful stay in the Mountain Lodge!
The condo was nicely furnished with everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a crockpot which we used. The beds slept well and having a washer/dryer was a bonus. Tim was excellent to work with and very accomodating throughout the rental process. Mountain Lodge is perfectly located close to everything in the village and immediate access to ski lifts right outside the lodge. Employees at Mountain Lodge extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Mountain Lodge again and definitely rent through Tim.
This was our 25th year skiing at Snowshoe and ML 125 was by far the most convenient location ever. Two (2) of our grandchildren (ages 7 & 9) accompanied us, 125 was perfect because it was just about as close to the slopes as you can get!
Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. The washer/dryer was a great bonus!!
This is our second time renting from Tim, he is very organized and easy to work with, his instructions were perfect preventing any surprises!! Would definitely check with him first.
The hot water temperature was low resulting in waits between showers or chance running out of hot water. I sure it's a simple fix.
ML 125 was the perfect condo to stay in. It is located close to the parking lot for loading/unloading and to the ski slopes. It has everything you need for your stay and more. The washer/dryer is a big plus when you have wet ski clothes that need drying. I've stayed here twice and this condo will be the first one I look at for availability when we come back to Snowshoe.
Also, Tim, the owner, is fantastic to work with. Easy booking process and quick response time, which is greatly appreciated as condos at Snowshoe book up fast.
Let me first say that I've stayed in 125 twice now and it's been a pleasure to work with Tim each time. He is quick to respond to your inquiries and is always extremely helpful! The condo is locate within a couple of feet to the door going out to the Ballhooter lift, which is awesome! in the morning it is so easy to just step out your door and be on the slopes within seconds. Coming in for lunch or anytime is very easy as well. If you are like us and bring most of your own food (huge cost savings) you'll love how the kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need to either cook or heat up your food. I really can't say enough good things about our experience, and we'll be staying with Tim and ML 125 again on our next trip to Snowshoe!
Thanks for a great stay and amazing customer service Tim!
Comfortable beds, short walk to the village center. We had a great stay and a lot of fun!
My family of 6 spent 3 days in the condo and had a great time despite the poor snow skiing conditions. The condo met all of our needs and was super close to the ski in/ski out door right in front of the Ballhooter Lift. Couldn't ask for any more at this price.
One star is deducted for the occasional issue with hot water supply, -- sometimes you have to wait for about an hour for the hot water to restore.
Mountain Lodge is the most convenient place to say on Snowshoe and this condo is one of the most conveniently located in Mountain Lodge, being just a few steps from both the Ballhooter Lift entrance and the parking lot entrance. The negative of the location is that the view is only that of the parking lot, whereas you get the mountain view from the other side of Mountain Lodge. The Condo is nice by ML standards. The King bed is a plus. Tim was very responsive during the rental process. Only negative was the living room thermostat didn't work when we arrived. We notified the front desk and they put in a maintenance order. But maintenance didn't show up until the third day, as we were leaving, and that was only after I called Tim to notify him of the problem. So the living room was a pretty chilly the first two nights.
This is the best Ski-in and Ski-out on the mountain as far as location! Literally walk 30-40 steps and you're at the top ready to burn the mountain up like Clark Griswold. ML has been around for a while, so it's nothing fancy, but if you're coming to ski/board, who needs fancy? We had 4 grown men staying in Tim's place, one of which is a big sasquatch/oger looking mofo, and we had plenty of room. Tim is super helpful and very responsive. I'll be back to carve! DEEEVVVVIIIILLLLLL!
My family stayed in this unit and I can't recommend it enough! Very well kept, strong wifi and ski in/out. Tim is extremely responsive and helpful! We ended up coming up a night early and out of concern for weather and Tim helped make the whole things possible even though we had to stay in another unit. He talked to housekeeping and went above and beyond. We will always rent from him from now on! In terms of location it is right in snowshoe village making ski rental, food etc very easy and our teens could run around the place without going too far - highly recommend!
Condo was perfect for easy access to the slopes! Everything was as advertised and suited our purposes. Mountain Lodge staff was helpful and we took advantage of the discount for equipment rental Tim offered! Only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was we had difficulty with the condo's room temperature...we couldn't get the rooms to go below 75 (on average) with some times the inside temp as high as 78, even with the inside heat strips off. Made for some sweltering time inside, but, to be honest, we weren't there for the inside and the location pretty much made up for the heat issues.
Condo was exactly as described and perfect for my two grown sons and myself. You can't get closer to skiing in and out than Mountain Lodge and this unit. Very easy. Tim was excellent and gave me more information and details about Snowshoe and the area than I could have asked. Will definitely contact Tim for any future stays at Snowshoe!
condo was excellent. small but roomy enough for my wife and 3 kids. perfect location to slopes (walk 40 ft down hall and you are in snow, skis on and going down the slope). 100 yd walk to village.
Tim was great to work with. Responsive, honest, provided great deals and info.
This was my 2nd tme staying at Tim's. Will be back no doubt!!
Mountain lodge is ideally situated -- it leads right out to the slopes and trails, and the village as well, but without the noise of either. Tim's the right kind of owner to rent from -- he never takes long to respond to emails, and he even let me have a last-minute extension to my stay when my other plans got ruined by bad weather. Don't think that the low price means a shabby place -- Tim's in competition with other owners in the area and is offering a good place at a good price. All the other positive reviews are here for a reason, so don't hesitate to request this place if it's available!
Awesome Place! Tim was super helpful and the room had everything that was needed. The slopes are just a few steps out the front door. We couldn't get the dryer to work, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I will definitely come back here next time!
This place couldn't be better- the location is perfect! It's a true ski in and ski out! We've stayed at. Serious properties with this owner and he is always so helpful and very easy to work with! Once again, always recommend this place and any of his others!
The room was right by the exit to the slopes. It was fully stocked with all you would need in the kitchen. The dryer didn't work, nor the toaster oven...FYI. We love working with Tim and will continue to as long as we go to snowshoe.
This will not be a review of the condo since we never made it up to snowshoe due to Storm Jonas. We've been frequenting snowshoe for many years and usually stay at allegheny or Seneca. This time due to this impending storm we wanted to make it up to the mtn a day earlier than planned and booked with Tim at the last minute (this also possible due to his prompt responses). However in route very early friday morning, we turned around and returned home due to treacherous road conditions. I contacted Tim to let him know we will not be checking in that afternoon with no expectations of any refund since the cancellation policy was very clear, but to my surprise Tim gave me a FULL REFUND. I must admit with all the years of vacationing, this was a first!! I look forward to staying in one of his units on our next visit to Snowshoe. Thank you again, Tim.
Perfect location, friendly owner
My family and I made reservations to stay at this condo for the week of January 4, 2016. We have stayed at this location several times in the past and have had great accommodations each time. Unfortunately this time the weather did not cooperate?!! I was very pleased with the communication the owner gave me and his decision to refund all of my deposit. He was very understanding about the weather and slope conditions. He understood that the reservations were made to enjoy the slopes and there wasn't enough snow ?! I and looking forward to staying in one of his condos in the future! Thanks again!!!!
Tim is a very conscientious owner! We booked ML125 for the week after Christmas of 2015 when there was unseasonably warm weather, rain, and no snow. Tim was great to work with right from the start with a quick response to my inquiry and booking in early October. He then sent a confirmation letter, maps, discounts for rentals and lift tickets. Several days before our trip it was obvious that the slope conditions were poor due to the unusually warm weather and heavy rains. Although the terms of the contract for full refunds were not allowed unless it could be taken by another renter, Tim gave us a FULL refund stating he would expect the same treatment if he were renting a vacation property. We feel extremely confident regarding Tim’s trustworthiness, dependability, helpfulness, empathy and quick response. The next time we plan a trip to Snowshoe we will definitely rent from Tim.
We had a great stay and the owner was very helpful. I would recommend staying here because it's a great location to the door that goes out to the slopes.
Had a great week at Showshoe and couldn't ask for a better unit to stay in. ML125 is a great condo that has everything you need for a great stay. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need. The condo also has WiFi which is really nice. The best thing about this unit is the location. It is really close to the door that goes out to the top of Ballhooter lift. It is also close to a door that goes to the parking lot so it makes unloaded and loading very easy. I would recommend this unit to anyone.
Just returned from a great weekend at Snowshoe and very nice stay in ML125. The condo was clean, kitchen well supplied (there is even a waffle maker! will remember for next time), and everyone slept great. Getting in and out is easy since there is the interior door just out the room to the right which leads directly to the slopes, first floor is also great, climbing 3 flights of stairs in ski boots is exhausting. The in condo wifi was also extremely nice to have and allowed us to keep in touch with family much easier than last year when we had to go to center of Mountain Lodge whenever we needed to use the public wi-fi. Overall great stay, highly recommended.
We have stayed in Mountain Lodge before, but this was an excellent location. Convenient to the slope. The condo was great for two families. Well stocked with supplies, and the manager/owner was receptive when an internet question arose. I would recommend this unit to anyone.
We really enjoyed our stay; renter was great to work with. Condo was in a very convenient location - very easy to access from parking and close to slopes and village too. Mountain Lodge isn't as nice / more family oriented than other newer buildings surrounding it, so it was noisy at times and condo was a little dated, but it was still great for our stay and included all the amenities we needed!
Nice, clean, very convenient, fit our needs and the property manager was very responsive and helpful.
My wife and I recently stayed in ML 125 and we couldn't have been happier there. The owner is top notch. The condo is very nice, roomy, comfortable, and conveniently located. We found everything we needed in this ski condo. We had to drive almost 14 hours to get to Snowshoe and we were exhausted when we arrived. We made a phone call to the owner and he graciously allowed us to check in a little early so we could get some sleep before we started skiing. The condo was very clean and up to date. It also has its own wireless router which provided a very strong signal. The washer and dryer, which is rare at Mountain Lodge, was very nice to have. We had no issues with this condo whatsoever. It is also located about 50-75 feet from the door that leads to the slopes. Mountain Lodge is located directly on the slopes and about 100-200 yards from Village Central. I would highly recommend this nice 2 bedroom to anyone looking to stay at Snowshoe.
Thanks so much for offering this unit for one night. We the motorcycles up on Sat, stayed over for the Fire on the Mountain, and rode out the next day. The location was great, as we parked near the condo and walked to the Village for Chili, drinks, dinner, etc.
The beds were good, unit was well stocked , and met our needs exactly. WiFi was especially nice after the spotty connections we had elsewhere. Mountain Lodge staff are friendly and helpful, Tried the new Sunset Cantina, and we liked it. Did I mention we parked right outside our room ?? Important for motorcycle riders. Enjoyed the bands, but got to the Village too late for the Chili. Had a fun time. See you at GNCC weekend !!!!
Great base of operations for cross country and down-hill mountain biking. When we were not riding we relaxed in the condo or hung out at the festival that was going on that weekend. We also got front-row seats for some great 4TH of July fireworks put on by Snowshoe. Great condo, great atmosphere and great riding!
My family of four and me recently stayed at this very clean and spacious condo for spring break. It was great for the four of us. Right in the heart of downtown snowshoe, close to restaurants and shopping and skiing of course. The only complaint is that the walls are thin and it was sometimes hard to sleep (or stay asleep). Besides that, a wonderful stay.
The property owner was accurate in describing condo's cleanliness, appearance, and amenities. The location near the Village was much of a convenience as was the ski-in ski-out advantage.
Unfortunately, our 3 day holiday was cut to 2 days because of an oncoming icestorm.
This is an affordable way to enjoy some awesome skiing at Snowshoe. The lodge is right on the slopes so we could put on our gear in the condominium walk across the hall and we were on the slopes. The place slept six easily and had all the conveniences we needed. Everything for cooking and preparing your own meals was in the room except food. We highly recommend this rental.
First time visiting snow shoe, so this was a perfect location considering we didn't know the area too well and it is close to everything. You don't have to drive anywhere. Everything was clean, rooms are spacious, great kitchen for cooking and eating in. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because of the noise or the walls being too thin. Bright and early and late at night, it gets loud and because I slept in the room near the outside hall way to the other condos, I could hear everything and I couldn't sleep. You could hear people walking by or closing their doors.
Had a 3 great days of skiing and was very happy with this condo. The owner responded very quickly to questions and allowed us to check-in early and check-out lat since the unit was not rented the day before or after our stay. Everything worked properly, the beds were comfortable, and having a dryer in the condo was great. This unit was VERY close and convenient to the slopes. It faces the parking lot which doesn't give much of a view but the convenience makes up for it. We have stayed in various condos at Snowshoe and while some of the other buildings are more luxurious, we prefer ML because of the convenience for skiing and price.
The room was great for our skiing get away. Service from staff was excellent. The room was equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect for skiing and close to all the restaurant and shops in the village.
We couldn't ask for more. Not only it was ski in/out was easy access to everything. We had very nice time there. Will be back again 🙂
My family stayed here in September and it was a nice quiet place to get away to. Tim was very helpful and accomodating. It has great access to the village. The Wi-Fi was a little touchy but you did have it in the condo. Having the washer/dryer in the unit was a huge benefit. We saw deer almost everyday. The village employees were great as well. They were friendly and inviting. If you do go to snowshoe, give this place a try and don't forget to stop by the Foxfire restaurant.
My family of 5 went the very last week of the season, when they had gotten a ton a snow. It was our first time and Snowshoe and we loved it! This 2 bedroom condo was exactly what my family needed. It is an older condo, but was very clean and in the perfect location. You literally walk out the door, put your skis on and ski down the mountain. This particular condo had a washer and dryer in it, which was very nice since I have three kids. We washed a lot! The condo was stocked with everything you need, including floor fans. Tim was a pleasure to work with! Our trip was Awesome, Thanks so much!!
Check in on Friday afternoon went very well without any delays at the front desk.
The condo was clean and very convenient to both the slopes and the main village.
We were 4 adults and a child and the size was perfect. Note, the child slept in the master bedroom.
In all honesty, it would be tight for 6 adults.
We cooked in 2 of the 3 nights and ate at the Fiddlehead at the bottom of the mountain one night and it was great food with a lot of locals there. We also ate lunch at the Old Spruce Cafe which had delicious sandwiches and soups.
Overall, we had a very nice stay and the owner was very easy to work with and professional.
This property slept six adults comfortably, with the pull out couch in the living room. The washing machine and dryer combo was extremely nice to have. The skiers in our group used the dryer to refresh their ski gear during multiple trips to the slopes in one day.
The ski in/ski out was a great amenity. You can literally walk from the first floor of the lodge onto Ballhooter, I think that was the name. I loved being so close to the slopes!
The only thing was the wi-fi did not work. There was a signal, but it never connected to the signal. We had our iPads and iPhones. For those that have never been to Snowshoe, there is absolutely no cell phone service. We were not expecting that at all. My friends went to the Catholic Church for service and they enjoyed the service, for anyone that is curious.
I would definitely use this VRBO again. The renter answered all my questions in a quickly manner.
Our trip was great! We were very impressed with the accommodations at Mountain Lodge. We were able to unpack our stuff and spread out within the condo. The snow conditions were absolutely wonderful-there was fresh powder each morning. The ski in ski out from Mountain Lodge is ideal-it is literally steps from the Ballhooter lift-there are not many centrally located ski in/ski out lodges where you literally put on/take off your skis at the door.
Tim was the best, most friendly helpful owner/manager I've ever dealt with on VRBO.
Overall, I think Snowshoe is AWESOME for eastern US snow skiing. It is the closest in size/scope/amount of fresh powder to the western resorts in Colorado, Utah, etc. Thank you again for the GREAT vacation!
All was as expected, Very clean, comfortable, convenient and no hassles what-so-ever. Super easy check-in & check-out. Only minus was lack of wi-fi... could only access it in the halllway, and even then was iffy.
This was a last minute booking and Tim made it happen effortlessly. Would definitely recommend going with his properties, and will myself in the future.
Our family had a great experience staying in this unit. We skied a holiday weekend, so the resort was packed, but we never felt crowded at Mountain Lodge. The accommodations are not luxury but are functional and comfortable.
If you are staying during a busy time, location in the Mountain Lodge is important as all of the ski lockers were taken before we arrived and we had to bring our equipment back to the condo. The location of this unit was perfect being on the first floor and close to the exit for the lift.
The parking lot was tough to drive and park in. Many vehicles got stuck, but there was a Snowshoe truck assisting drivers with chains if needed. Since the parking lot it always crowded, I was told it is difficult for them to plow it well. This was not too big of a deal as we did not need to use our vehicle while there.
Our family would stay here again and would recommend it to a friend.
Everyone that we met on the mountain was beyond friendly. We felt so welcomed, almost as if we were a local. I would definietly travel back to the mountain and to this condo.
My stay at Mountain Lodge was quite enjoyable. The listing description was accurate; I especially appreciated having a washer/dryer unit in the condo. The help was friendly, knowledgable and went out of their way to be helpful. The condo was clean, furnished nicely and it was a pleasure to use it as home for two months.
Since I as there at off season and it wasn't fully staffed, it would have been helpful to have had a telephone number that was near the front desk for information and emergencies.
I would highly recommend a trip off-the-mountain to the town of Cass for a ride on the train and a trip to Green Bank to visit the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and the artisit guild. Local farmer's markets in both Marlinton and Green Bank are also fun! And, don't miss the Opera House in Marlinton. For outdoor enthusists, Cranberry Glades is close by.
I would highly recommend Mountain Lodge to all who enjoy the outdoors and living among the clouds.
We had a great time at Snowshoe. Tim was wonderful to work with and went way beyond providing information to me with the many e-mails I sent. The condo was very nice and comfortable. My only complaint was the wireless internet service. I had to use my laptop in the master bedroom to get a good signal. I also like the units that face the slops but this one had very easy access to outside. All in all, good experience. Thanks Tim for your assistance.
What a great vacation! The owner of this condo was an absolute PEACH to work with-- we were coordinating among quite a few people and had to send several emails before deciding on the right dates/location/etc. and Timothy responded quickly and politely to every single one. We were able to stay two nights, where most of the places require a three night minimum. I'm not sure if that is the norm for this property or if it was allowed because we were staying later in the season/last minute, but we REALLY appreciated it. The Mountain Lodge is certainly a little bit old and dated as other reviewers have mentioned, but this condo was clean, featured a great layout, and comfortably fit 5 adults. While it's not "luxurious" and new, it certainly fits the bill for a perfect ski weekend location. Also, the room itself is incredibly close to the exit that leads out to the slope, so while the Mountain Lodge is ON the slope, I imagine other rooms do have to walk through the lodge a bit to get to the exit (although there may be other exits closer to other rooms... I didn't look) but you take about 10 steps from this unit and you're there! Snowshoe itself is a fantastic place to ski. It is a HUGE resort and there are so many different trails for all skill levels. And the "Village" where there are plenty of shops, DELICIOUS restaurants (I recommend the Fire Fox grill for some of the best BBQ you've ever had), Starbucks and random weekend entertainment put on by the resort, is also literally steps from the lodge. We had quite the drive going in-- lots of rain and fog-- and it ended up taking us WAY long than we expected to get there. Everyone in my party swore they would never go back, but by Saturday evening they were making plans. I HIGHLY recommend Snowshoe, the Mountain Lodge, and Timothy!
For a first time ski trip, we were looking for accommodations that were budget friendly, easily accessible to the slopes, and comfortable for the whole family. What a gold mine we found! After doing extensive research, I found this condo to be the best priced for the amenities it provided. Also, having a washer/dryer in the condo was a huge plus. Most units did not have this feature. Nothing is worse than kids complaining about wet/cold snow gear! The owner was very friendly, quick to respond to our questions, and provided useful information for first time visitors (lift and rental discounts, restaurant reservation tips). Highly recommend. Our family will rent this unit again!
Had a group of six stay at this unit this past weekend. Its first-floor Mountain Lodge location can't be beat. You're literally a minute away from the BallHooter lift and the Village complex.
The master bedroom is fairly large and has its own bath. The guest bedroom and hall bath were also reasonably sized, as was the pull-out couch. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils, dishes, and cookware we needed to help feed our hungry group. There was bedding supplied for the pull-out couch.
The owner was responsive with any questions I had about the unit. Everything was found in clean and working order. Our overall experience was great. The only drawback was the first-floor noise of early morning guests headed out to the slopes, which could be heard from the master and guest bedrooms. Still, a small price to pay for the location. I'd definitely consider staying at this unit again.
We stayed in this Mountain Lodge condo over the New Years weekend. It was very easy to get out to the slopes from this unit. Having a washer and dryer was great for drying out our ski gear. Very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our family of 5. Additionally, the owner provided us with a lot of information and discounted ski rental options. He sent great directions and information about the condo and the village. We would definitely stay here again!
