PETS: We absolutely adore our furry friends and wish you could bring them with you. Unfortunately, Mountain Lodge does not allow guests to bring pets of any type. As such, we have to insist you find alternative accommodations for your pets. However, if you have a certified Service Animal, let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate you. Service animals must be registered when you check-in at the front desk.
EARLY CHECK-IN: While we know you are excited to kick off your vacation, please note we cannot guarantee check-in prior to 5:00 PM. Mountain Lodge may be able to accommodate your request for an earlier check-in as long as the room is clean and set up.

PARKING: Your reservation includes parking for up to as many vehicles as there are bedrooms in the condo you’ve booked. Any additional vehicles will be allowed to unload passengers and luggage at the Mountain Lodge main entrance, but will then need to find parking outside of the Mountain Lodge parking lot. We welcome you to park for free at the Top of the World (left out of Mountain Lodge parking lot; one mile up the road). From there, you can take the shuttle to the Village, and walk to Mountain Lodge. It is imperative that you move your vehicle(s) out of the Mountain Lodge parking lot immediately following check-out, as the lot is not large enough to accommodate vehicles of incoming Guests in addition to those of departing Guests.

We enjoyed our time at this condo. Had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. Mountain Lodge is always a great place to stay; close to everything and a nice sized parking lot. We’ll stay again for sure!
Accurate description... great location
Thank you for the feedback on the can opener, Tedd. We're verifying the unit doesn't have one (sometimes Guests move things around and we find them in unexpected places.) We'll definitely make sure there is a can opener for the next Guests. Thank you for staying with EDH Rentals, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!
The towel situation was a nightmare from start to finish. We were given 3 towels and 3 washcloths for our 4 guests/2 night stay. When I messaged the owner for towels he said housekeeping assured him there were 4 towels stocked(there really wasn’t) and if I needed additional towels I would be charged for an additional linen package. However, there ended up being no towels even available because it was GNCC weekend. I’ve never stayed a place that would not swap you out for clean towels and expected you to reuse your dirty towels and wash cloths. Anyways, we moved on from that and made it work for the weekend. Then I get a reimbursement request from Tim, the owner, for 58.30 for 3 towels and a bath mat because they had dirt on them. First off, it was GNCC weekend and we had to reuse 3 towels all weekend. I could see if they were stained with oil and unusable after washing. In my opinion, the 137.00 cleaning fee should cover the cup of bleach to wash the towels.
In anticipation of the loss of linens over GNCC, we were careful to stress in both the confirmation email and the check-in email that the pristine white bath towels (an industry standard) were to be used exclusively for drying off after a shower, and NOT for wiping mud from bodies or equipment.
Not only did we implore our GNCC guests not to use white towels to clean up staining mud, but we explicitly warned them that they would be responsible for replacing any linens that could not be brought back to pristine white. We even went so far as to offer to bring our guests free wipe rags if they needed them to wipe up mud or spills.
When our cleaning team went in to clean up after Ashley's group, they found all four towels and all four washcloths. One towel (presumably the one Ashley thought wasn't there) was clean and unused. The remaining three towels were irreparably stained with the red clay mud of Snowshoe, which is notoriously ruinous for white towels.
I'm not sure if Ashley ignored the emails I sent her, or if she just didn't care. Either way, she used the bath towels I left her to wipe up mud, and my cleaners were unable (even after soaking them) to remove the red mud stains. I sent Ashley pictures to show her this, but she still refused to pay for the damages she made in violation of clearly-stated policies. I do agree with Ashley that the towel situation was a nightmare, but it was a nightmare for me, as I'm left to replace the linens she ruined.
It's true we're not a hotel that switches out towels as often as a guest soils them, but this is also the standard at Snowshoe Resort, and we clearly explain the linen policy in our confirmation email. Most guests do fine with a single towel for a two-night stay. For guests staying longer, we offer options to rent additional linen at a marginal price to cover the costs of additional laundering.
I take Ashley's point that there shouldn't be an additional cost to bleach the towels, and I've had this very discussion with my cleaning team. But the concentration of bleach needed to remove the red clay stains degrades the towel fibers to the point where the life of the towel is substantially reduced. If it was as easy as just bleaching the linens and they went back to being sufficiently white to reuse, I would never have billed Ashley.
Given that I gave her the ground rules in advance, and she ignored them, I feel it's fair to recover my costs for the losses she caused. For next year's GNCC, we'll be putting two brown bath towels into each of our properties in an effort to help folks who don't read the emails we send them (or who can't be bothered to follow rules) avoid ruining linens.
